AM seeks to integrate and align the individual’s body, health, emotional well-being, and the individuals unique biography and journey.
AM strives to harmonise humanity with the rhythms of nature, the Earth, and the cosmos.
The principles of AM combine modern natural science with universal laws that govern the rhythms and interconnectdness of life, nature, and the cosmos.
About Our Clinic
We are based at the Neetside Centre in the heart of Bude, North Cornwall, located between the Bude Canal and the River Neet, opening out to the Celtic Sea and the Atlantic Ocean.
This area has always held a special place in my heart, as I’ve long been intrigued by the mysteries of the surrounding landscape, especially the Arthurian legends, which have had a profound impact on the region's nature and elements. The area offers a regenerative and healing energy, perfect for the body’s restoration.
Impressions of our Practice in Bude
We aim to create a space where people of all ages and backgrounds can discover self-empowerment and healing through the innate potential of their own body. Our goal is to offer complete resolution, relief, and guidance at every stage of the healing process.
About Alix Stokes
Alix Stokes has dedicated his career to osteopathy with the goal of understanding how the human body develops and evolves throughout life. With international experience in New Zealand, Germany, and the UK, Alix discovered a deep passion for teaching the human sciences and osteopathy.
His approach to practice began to evolve when he undertook a diploma in Anthroposophical Medicine. This study laid the foundation for understanding the interconnected rhythms of the body, its vitality, the emotional world, and the spiritual dimensions of each individual. Through this work, Alix realised that these dimensions are not isolated; they are intricately connected to the rhythms of nature and the cosmos. By integrating these insights into his daily practice, Alix uncovered a new dimension of the healing process. He came to recognise that healing manifests through changes in rhythm, both in the physical and emotional body. Navigating this path was not without challenges. However, Alix learned to trust the principles expressed through the healing body, believing in their potential to bring about the most profound outcomes for each individual.
Alix is deeply committed to helping individuals reconnect with themselves, discover their health and potential, and navigate their unique healing processes.
As a pioneer in the field of inherent healing, Alix is also dedicated to sharing these insights with the wider therapeutic community—not only to benefit individual practitioners but also to advance the field of therapy and contribute to the betterment of humanity, the planet, and our connection to the universe.
About Osteopathy
Your body is the wisest and safest physician.
Osteopathy is a holistic discipline of medicine founded by Andrew Taylor Still in the late 19th century. It is based on the body’s inherent wisdom and its ability to self-heal, regulate, and evolve.
Osteopaths believe that this wisdom represents the body’s ‘inner physician.’ Essentially, the body’s own wisdom in health and healing is the safest and most effective medicine for each individual.
The practice of osteopathy is centred around aligning with the body’s inherent intelligence, guiding each individual toward health and well-being.
The role of the osteopath is to assess and remove any barriers that may be limiting the body’s self-healing capacity.
